My second favorite room in the house is my master bath. This is a room I plan to spend some much needed R&R time. A place I'll allow Calgone to take me away. A place I'll finish reading Emma. Naturally, the looks below are inspiring, to say the least. These bathrooms cause my heart to skip a beat. I'm now a believer of love at first sight. What do you think?

Design Candy: Tween Bedroom
My Syd is a tween and has outgrown her current Hannah Montana design. She is not sure of what she wants, but did mention she wanted something a teenage girl would have. I can't believe she's grown up so fast.
These are some inspiring photos I thought I'd share with her to get her motivated to design her bedroom. What do you think?

Design Candy: Master bedroom
Justice's CHASE for his "Boy" Cave DESIGN
My son Justice asked me to post his design inspiration. Well, as he called them, his "design pictures."

He is more interested in designing his bedroom than his sisters are. Interesting. Could this be his calling? His father will not enjoy the idea of his son being an interior designer. Perhaps an architect will suffice.
In any event, here are JT's inspiring design pictures.

Friday Inspiration

I'm speechless. This is exactly the look I want for my master bedroom. My two favorite colors are pink (any shade) and turquoise (again, any shade). I thought about focusing on blush with turquoise accents. And then I saw this room. I already have the turquoise lamps. I just need to find those chairs. Oh be still my heart.

Peacocks

I ordered peacock hand-painted dinnerware from Macy's a few weeks ago. Currently back-ordered and I should receive them at the end of this month. These Edie Rose beauties were designed by Rachel Bilson. Her designs are amazing. Very colorful and full of life.
I cannot wait to add these to my dining room table. I'm thinking an old country inspired white French style dining table.

in the beginning

Welcome to THE DESIGN CHASE.
This blog will chronicle my chase for the perfect interior design for our home. I am passionate about interior design. Once I get my money's worth from my expensive law education, I'll pursue a career as a certified interior designer. In the meantime, I'll focus my design talents on my home.
We're relocating to the Bay Area and have decided to sell EVERYTHING at our moving sale. Well, almost everything. We're keeping the bedroom furniture, as it is classic and at the very least... STUNNING!!!
We want to start designing our home from scratch. Of course, we have the basic essentials already (bedroom furniture and lamps and art work) to inspire our designs. We know... well, I know we'll have a dining room designed around a large peacock portrait. The living room and kitchen designs are inspired by our love for various islands, right now the Bahamas being our favorite as we're heading there in September on the Disney Dream.
The master bedroom will also be designed with a island/beach theme in mind. The children's rooms are being left to their creative minds. My children's names are Syd, JT and Sab (nicknames of course).
Syd's the preteen girl and my beautiful mommy's helper. JT is the rough and tough first grader. Sab, my baby girl. The princess of all princesses, who acts like a queen and my little diva-in-training.
I've allowed each of them to design their own rooms. Later posts will reveal their designs and the process to turn them into reality.
The bathroom designs are a work in progress. The above photo of the white leather sofa set is a hint of our design style.
I hope you continue to follow our chase for the perfect design.
